De forma inteligente, dolorosamente realista y, aún así, comic, Juan and Mariana tell the public a sequence of scenes that have to do with their marriage and the relationship they maintain after their divorce. No existe un marco temporal en Scenes from married life, no hay referencias concretas a ninguna época, sólo vemos a dos maravillosos personajes que hacen cómplices al público de sus escenas de vida.
