A principios de los años sesenta del siglo XX la Iglesia facilitó el procedimiento para dispensar a los sacerdotes que quisieran dejar de serlo. Uno de ellos fue el padre de Alfredo Sanzol, autor y director de The bar that swallowed all the Spaniards, su primera creación al frente del Centro Dramático Nacional. Mezclando realidad y ficción, Sanzol reinterpreta la historia de su padre, aquí Jorge Arizmendi, un cura navarro que en 1963 deja el sacerdocio y viaja a Texas para acabar vendiendo aspiradoras, hasta que conoce a un matrimonio de rancheros que le proponen que se quede a vivir con ellos y herede la hacienda. Una obra dedicada a los hombres y mujeres que deciden cambiar de vida arriesgándolo todo, con la firma de uno de los dramaturgos españoles más importantes del momento. AU
