The Ryan Murphy series Pose (HBO) took us into the scene Ballroom from New York of the years 80, a countercultural movement led by African Americans and Latinos in the community queer who developed a dance style called voguing inspired by poses from fashion magazines, Egyptian hieroglyphics, asian martial arts, ballet and el break dance, among other influences. The second edition of Club Mutante will revolve around this type of dance, a project that wants to become the epicenter of alternative dance in Valencia. The party starts with a dance marathon in the TEM lobby and the program includes a workshop dedicated to electro dance (a variant of urban dance whose movements are determined by electronic music), and workshop taught by Jay Jay Revlon about the different categories of the scene Ballroom and its basic elements, and a session led by Raisha (reference of the most current Ballroom culture) dedicated to Vogue Women, considered the category of voguing most important today. The show will end on Saturday 11/7 with a Kiki Ball, a competition in which dancers will demonstrate their skill in different categories loaded with transparencies, saturated colors, eye-catching prints and, what a remedy, the damn masks.
