Ma-ra-vi-llo-sa. IN. is a graphic novel with delicious humor that is disarming for its lucid portrait of the way we relate to the other human beings around us without breaking the membrane that makes deeper connections difficult. Nick is a cartoonist who masturbates listening to Joni Mitchell and draws in cafes like Gentrificchiato, managed by a shortcut from Timothée Chalamets who recommends cactus milk. Can't connect with anyone, is not happy, does not enjoy, doesn't feel anything, or yes, ashamed of himself when he is around people. So pretend. Until he finally dares to go beyond the inconsequential conversation with the plumber who comes to his house to fix a leak and manages to open a leak through which he will continue to navigate for the rest of the story.. An exceptional script, to metaphorical rats, very deep, but sprinkled with delicious humor that makes this comic a true gem. S.M.
