DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL

FROM FRIDAY 15 TO SATURDAY 23/5
docsvalencia.com

First decade of existence for this festival focused on so-called non-fiction cinema. DocsValencia opens and closes its program this year with two pieces of Valencian production. The opening will fall on the documentary The Pieta, by filmmakers Rafa Molés and Pepe Andreu, work that takes us to the distant lands of Iceland—at the foot of the Vatnajökull glacier, the second largest in Europe—, where we will meet the Björn brothers. They settled there at the beginning of the 20th century to observe its evolution, becoming, So, in pioneers of the climate record. On the other hand, The closing will correspond to the short film The Saint, in which the Italian director, settled in Dénia, Carlo D'Ursi, offers us a reflection on the family from his own experience. Between one and the other, The DocsValencia agenda offers us a program with 46 titles that this year will address topics such as the footprint of the dana of Valencia, the memory of the past, The identity, mental health and the pulse between artisanal tradition and the impact of Artificial Intelligence.
