In January, this program of the Filmoteca dedicated to the western contemporary. The cycle places the starting point in the transformation of the genre in 1962, with the withdrawal of classic directors like John Ford, Raoul Walsh i Howard Hawks, and the emergence of new generations of directors. Contemporary Westerns it spans several decades with names like Sam Peckinpah, Richard Brooks o Don Siegel, he new Hollywood by Robert Altman and Michael Cimino, the eighties and nineties with authors like Lawrence Kasdan and Kevin Costner, Clint Eastwood No forgiveness, until recent works like First cow de Kelly Reichardt o The power of the dog by Jane Campion.
