New edition of this competition dedicated to animation. Organized by the Vice-Rectorate of Students, Culture and Sports of the Polytechnic University of Valencia in collaboration with the Institut Valencià de Cultura, The Film Library and the Las Naves center, among other entities, Prime the animation is a festival/meeting aimed at young creators, professionals and startups linked or interested in the world of animation. A meeting point for exchange in which to share experiences, projects and generate networks and work synergies. THE contest counts, first of all, with a competition section for animated short films that includes three awards: best short film, jury prize and best experimental animation prize. Besides, the prize will be awarded to the best pitch(project or portfolio presentation), in a professional meeting day that will take place in Las Naves and in which numerous studios and professionals from the Valencian Community and the international arena will participate.. Among the guests at this edition we find the following names: Rocio Alvarez (Winner Prime the Animation 5th edition), Annick Tenninge, director of La Poudrière (France), this year's guest school, Yolanda Alonso, springboardfrom the Cartoon Masters company, Juan Pablo Zaramella, author of Luminaries,the animated short with the most awards in the world, about Lula Gómez, series director you are a poop. In addition to the screenings and meetings, Prime the animation offers exhibitions and workshops. Among the exhibitions we find one dedicated to the Valencian animator Pascual Pérez, another that has the title Animation to transform the world, y In showcase, with animation projects of the Master in Animation of the UPV. Two activities complete the programming. As part of its conservation work, the Filmoteca will present the project Pioneers of Valencian animation: Perez Arroyo, while the Carmen center will host a workshop and screenings for children and families.
