THE ICE FACTORY. José Ballester Gozalvo, 37
The new wave French film was one of the most relevant phenomena in cinema of the second half of the 20th century.. By then, a group of film critics wanted to put their theoretical assumptions into practice, giving rise to, not only to a new generation of filmmakers, but to a new way of making movies. Those responsible for this movement wanted to break the production schemes of traditional cinema and take cameras to natural spaces., questioning the very forms of cinema to reinvent its language, giving preponderance to the figure of the director over the production apparatus, claiming an authorship that was above merely industrial interests. The Ice Factory now offers us a review of this phenomenon in images with a series of projections. If in the month of January the program offered us the possibility of seeing again Live your life, debut of a young Jean-Luc Godard, From February to April we will be able to get closer to the first short films of this generation and the feature film Mouth watering (1960) de Jacques Doniol-Valcroze, unreleased in Spanish theaters. So, we will be able to see pieces by Godard himself, Agnès Varda, Alain Resnais, Chris Marker, François Truffaut or Jacques Rivette. G.LEON
