The Cinema classroom of the University of Valencia offers us two cycles of films to enliven the evenings of this, predictably, stifling Valencian summer. The first is titled Ingman Bergman with today's filmmakers i, taking advantage of the recent celebration of the centenary of the Swedish director's birth, brings us closer to those current directors who carry their aesthetic heritage in their cinema. Start the cycle with the documentary Trespassing Bergman de Jane Magnusson, to which they follow The royal Tenenbaums of Wes Anderson, Hana-Bi: fire flowers de Takeshi Kitano, The scoundrels by Claire Denis, About Schmidt d’Alexander Payne i Babel d’Alejandro González Iñárritu. The second cycle will try to discover to the general public some of the names of award-winning female directors over the years 71 years of the Cannes festival. This is the list: Cleo de 5 a 7 by Agnès Varda, Rosa Luxemburg by Margarethe von Trotta, The piano by Jane Campion, At five in the afternoon by Samira Makhmalbaf, Map of the sounds of Tokyo by Isabel Coixet and Wonderland by Alice Rohrwacher.
