We have a new festival in Valencia! It's called LABdeseries and, as his name already announces to us, it is a laboratory, meeting point or space for reflection on one of the most notable cultural and consumer phenomena of recent times: television series. Through a rich and very interesting program of talks and screenings, LABdeseries invites us to think about our society through this new-old fictional model together with specialists from all fields, from screenwriters and directors, even scientific communicators, journalists, writers and sociologists. What the series we consume say about us, how they reflect our world, What does the very fact that we consume certain types of audiovisual products say about us?. Launched with the support of the Valencian Institute of Culture, The Valencia City Council, EDAV (Valencian Audiovisual Writers) and SGAE, The project is an initiative of David Brieva, cultural manager, the professor and historian of the University of Valencia Áurea Ortiz, and the journalist and television critic Mikel Labastida, all of them responsible for the podcast Series Management Laboratory (Cadena Ser – Prisa Radio), where this idea comes from.
