The Filmoteca de Valencia presents this month a cycle of films on the occasion of the presentation of the collective book What will never return: Childhood in the cinema, where the representation of childhood is addressed throughout the history of the seventh art. There are eight titles reviewed in the text that offer a foray into the subject from different perspectives, both dramatic and formal. The program starts with The four hundred strokes [8-9/2] by François Truffaut, with Jean-Pierre Léaud as Antoine Doinel, a child who tries to escape from the suffocating world of his parents. A song of freedom from one of the pioneering works of nnew wave. By programming order, we will see Hunter's night [10 i 12/2], directorial debut of actor Charles Laughton, with Robert Mitchum in the role of a fake preacher who harasses some kids to get information about the loot of a robbery. They follow him, summer 1993 [14 i 19/2] by Carla Simon, the animation piece The life of Zucchini [16 i 18/2] by Claude Barras, Zazie on the subway [21 i 25/2] of Louis Malle, Luis Buñuel's masterpiece, The forgotten [22-23/2], wind in the sails [23 i 26/2] d'Alexander Mackendrick i the inoblidable E.T.
