If last month the Lys cinemas dedicated a cycle to the Japanese director Makoto Shinkai, in April, another great man from the manga and animation genre is playing: Katsuhiro Ōtomo. We will see two of his most outstanding works. we will start, how not, with Akira [20], film based on the manga of the same name made by Ōtomo himself and which represented a real revolution, both in Japanese and worldwide animation. The intricacies of its plot and the use of a highly refined technique have turned it into a cult work and one of the peaks of science fiction cinema of all time. In the second session we will see Memories [27], adaptation of three short stories by the same director. G.LEON
