We are in Britain again.. And again in the eighties of the last century. Somewhere on the coast lies the Empire, a great cinema where Hilary works, a woman suffering from mental illness. Hilary conoce a Stephen, a young black man, of immigrant parents, who is employed in the cinema and with whom he begins a friendship relationship, reinforced by their respective personal conditions, that marginalize them.
