Cinema according to Bernardo Bertolucci

THE FILMTECA. Pl. town hall, 17

With this cycle La Filmoteca pays tribute to one of the most relevant directors of world cinema, the recently deceased Bernardo Bertolucci. And the world championship is not free in this case, because if there is something that Bertolucci's cinema pursued, it is, precisely, build, starting from his native Italy, an image of the world as a commonplace. A cinema that was born from the revolution and ended in it to account for its wounds and disappointments. Pure History of the past 20th century. As Andrea Morini says, curator and programmer of the Cineteca di Bologna and in charge of presenting this retrospective: “Bertolucci's cinema began in Rome with Pasolini and The dry wife, and ended up in Rome with David Bowie and me and you. In the middle were the favorite places of the soul, the Po plain, Paris, and the great scenes of history. Dimensions only apparently distant from each other, in reality always united, always observed with innocence and curiosity, always returned to the texture of life. Then we discovered that the youth of Before the Revolution examined vast horizons, and that those of Little Buddha and the drifting souls of Last Tango are no different from the restless spirits of Companions or The Dreamers. Why, in the end, Bertolucci's cinema has developed in the history of the time that has consumed the hope of the Revolution and the disillusionment due to the failed Revolution.. But was not this our journey in the twentieth century that we have known? Bernardo Bertolucci's cinema presents us with the cinema of a traveling companion, so close that it can be called, simply, life". In May we will see the following titles: Before the revolution, The dry wife, Partner, love and rage, The spider strategy, The conformist, The oil route y The last tango in Paris. An excellent program. G.LEON
