THE FILMTECA. Pl. town hall, 17
On the occasion of the centenary of his birth and the start of the new decade, The Film Library dedicates, from this month, a complete retrospective of the work of what, certainly, is one of the key names in modern cinema: Federico Fellini. Fellini's work is a reflection of many things, but if it has gone down in history for something, it is because of this desire for the extravagant, for that almost surreal vision, fantastic of the world. After some initial steps influenced by Italian neorealism, his filmography would gradually unfold an imaginary of great impact in popular culture, as well as in many subsequent directors and artists from around the globe. But low of the forms, of the apparent, if there is something for which Fellini's cinema has left its mark and for which it must be claimed, it is because of his love for the simple experience of life in its many facets (the childhood, the sexe, the religion, the imprint of memory), everything explored from the ground up, mirror, even if it is distorted, de la vida quotidiana, stuck to the earth and the skin of the worldly man and his passions. In this month of January we will be able to see Los inútiles, Variety lights, El jeque blanco, the documentary Fellini: I'm a big liar, de Damian Pettigrew, Almas sin conciencia, and two of his masterpieces: Las noches de Cabiria i On the street.
