After his (not very successful) american adventure, Pedro Almodóvar's cinema returns to its roots. Bitter Christmas takes up all the classic themes of the director's cinema from La Mancha: the melodramatic element, passionate betrayal, the thriller genre and the game between fiction and reality. Elsa is a director of an advertising agency who goes to Lanzarote after a crisis caused by the death of her mother and the pressure that her work produces on her..
