La Mostra returns as an exclusive film festival breaking away, after the assumption of the management by the city council, of the Mostra Viva project (see Proposal). The new-old Mostra follows the idea of being a showcase for the cinema made in the countries of the Mediterranean area. At the close of our edition we did not have information on the official sections in the competition, so we move on to cycles. There we find Polar: French black series, which will give an account of the contribution to the noir genre of authors such as Jean-Luc Godard, Jacques Bral, Chabrol o Tavernier. The cycle will be joined to this New Palestinian cinema with pieces like The reports on Sarah and Saleem, de Muayad Alayan, o Writing on snow by Rashid Masharawi. And two tributes: to the Valencian producer Josep Anton Pérez Giner, recently deceased and responsible for films such as stray dogs, sleepwalkers, The peak o Monkeys like Becky, and the composer from Vinaròs, Carlos Santos, collaborator of filmmakers such as Pere Portabella. The Palm Tree of Honor will go to the Greek screenwriter Efthimis Filippou, collaborator of directors such as Yorgos Lanthimos, Babis Makridis or Athina Rachel Tsangari. G.LEON
