16 TONS. Ricardo Mico, 3
If we play them 7 families, surely within the family “2000s urban soul”, alongside James Blake, Tom Misch or Jordan Rakei, we would have Catalan Vic Mirallas. with him, we have one of those talented and non-conformist musicians who have emerged like a miracle in recent times and who confirm that today's young people have a lot to contribute to the modernization of our musical landscape. The trajectory of this young man is impressive: student at the Berklee School in Boston, saxophonist and backing vocalist of Alejandro Sanz, a first solo album without a false note 2017, collaborations with the best of the current urban landscape (Juancho Marqués, Don Patricio…) o fins i tot producer by Natalia Lacunza. It's impossible to put it in one box and that's what makes it interesting. Because the music of Vic Mirallas makes us vibrate, he transports us with his groove tinged with urban or electronic rhythms and makes the necessary bridge between the past, present and future. Less than thirty years, he already has everything of a great musician. B.L.
