Stupid is a group currently established in New York, a pioneer of sound indie–rock from the early nineties. Among its members the figure of Lou Barlow stands out, bassist of Dinosaur Jr, who decided to resume his career as a vocalist by forming his own group. Along with other American bands like Guided by voices y Pavement They were the precursors of the subgenre called lo-fi, where imperfections in the sound are not only not discarded during the recording process, but they are part of the musical aesthetic of the group. After fourteen years of inactivity at the end of the century, the band reunited its ranks again and currently, just a few months ago, released a new album titled Act surprised. V. CASAÑA
