Ravages, in french, means “havoc”. It is also the name of a science fiction novel by René Barjavel to whom Simon Beaudoux and Martin Chourrout, two members of the Parisian group Exsonvaldes, they wanted to pay tribute. Quite normal if we think that these two passionate about technology and architecture share the futuristic fascination of this book. With Ravages, the two musicians swap guitars for synthesizers and keyboards to give a modern vision of pop, inspired by Kraftwerk's machine men and Anglo-Saxon pop. If machines are ubiquitous, it is the human factor that continues to control them as evidenced by the poetry and emotion of the lyrics (in french) share group. B.L.
