Mediterranean West Coast Ska Showcase vol. 2

After the success of the first edition, Bredda Jamaican Music Club returns with a second volume of the Mediterranean West Coast Ska Showcase showing bands and music turntables early Jamaican to the west of the Mediterranean, this time in a mostly feminine tone. They understand the Mediterranean as an open sea and therefore try to include neighboring bands from outside the Valencian Country. The Italian training The Beers they are the headliner, a female band that since 2015 explores all the rhythms of Jamaica from the sixties and seventies inspired by vocal trios, like now, The Techniques, The Gaylads i The Pioneers; and by instrumental session bands Studio One and Treasure Isle, com The Skatalites, Sound Dimension, Soul Vendors… With these bands, the birrettes they have recorded an LP and three singles live and direct to a fully analogue studio. He moved to Argentina, Italy, and Regne Unit, France i, even, Jamaica, sharing the stage with legends like Ken Boothe or Johnny Osbourne. The first time they played in Valencia in January 2020 it was quite a success.

with them, from the County (originally from Alfafara), The dance crashers, who have just released their first full-length on vinyl with the Basque label Brixton Records. After two self-produced albums and a single released by Jamaican Memories, the people from Alicante have played all over the Valencian Country and Catalonia, and they are about to start their tour Double Barrel with his Catalan brothers Drop Collective, that will take them all over Spain. Both bands are committed to the original style of Jamaican ska-jazz and want to stay as true as possible to traditional Jamaican rhythms, but with a current sound.

And to complete the poster, a pleasant surprise, the taste of an exciting new project by musicians more than consecrated in the city of Valencia: The tigernuts. They consider themselves a group, since there is no fixed training. On vocals are Pablo El Papado and Paula Bam Bam, on the keyboard Clara Calvo and on the drums the prolific Antonio J. Iglesias. And for this occasion, they will be accompanied by Albert, guitar of La Fricativa Sonora, i bassist Paula Zambudio. In addition, in cabin, the great voice of the Payoh Soul Rebel inna rub-a-dub and deejay stylee, and the gang from Bredda Jamaican Music Club on the decks playing vinyl until the night is over.
