The axemen

WEDNESDAY 7/6, 21H. 20/25€
THE RAMBLET. Bulevard sud, cant. Pius IX

Hailing from Brooklyn, this seven-piece band revives folkloric styles such as salsa, the guaracha, the guajira or the porto-riquenya bomb. The first album of The axemen, launched at 2012 (Pilon, Chulo Records), and those that would come after, they were well received by salsa players of the new and old school, with live songs that make you feel the atmosphere of the best dance clubs in Havana. Although the group is relatively new, its components accumulate two years on stage, almost always as mercenaries in the service of neo-salsa stars like Marc Anthony or Edmar Castañeda. With clear influences from Beny Moré and Héctor Lavoe, the group will present its new album in La Rambleta, with release planned for this one 2023. ALBA NADAL
