Of the principles of 2000 on, the American Joan Wasser alies Joan As Police Woman has always been able to surprise: rock springy, sensual walks or folk solar, versions of Britney or Public Enemy or collaborations deluxe as in his last trio work with the long-lost Tony Allen and Dave Okumu on the album The solution is restless (SINKS, 2021). But, throughout his career - during which he was also Lou Reed's violinist, Antony & The Johnsons or Scissor Sisters– this prolific musician, virtuoso and chameleon has never lost its artistic coherence and underground, nor the style and sincerity that belongs to him: little by little, his music has moved away from the darkness of the first albums (derived from personal tragedies) to approach one groove bright and contagious. Ideal, then, to listen and find positivism in these altered times. B.L.
