VELES E VENTS. Moll de la Duana, s/n

In the mid eighties, three young African-Americans from Detroit —Derrick May, Juan Atkins i Kevin Saunderson—, inspired by the synthpop european, they established the foundations of a new musical genre that, in just ten years, I would conquer the mountain: he techno. It is essential to emphasize this context of origin, that of creators coming from a racialized popular environment and an industrial city in decline, to understand the genome of this genus and the myths it has generated (DJ, stamps, clubs, discos). But, instead of making a long speech, why not hear directly from the experts and historical players of the genre who will be participating, at the beginning of the year, in the cycle of Atlas conferences in tribute to techno from Detroit? to the program: masterclass, listening sessions and DJ sets with prominent figures such as Carl Craig, Stacey Pullen i Idris D. A very exciting program to start the year cultivating by hitting the dance floor! B.L.
