"The exception and the rule" is the last didactic play written by the great German playwright Beltort Brecht. We are told about the expedition undertaken by a foreign merchant, alongside a local guide and porter whom he hires to cross the Mongolian desert with the aim of discovering oil wells. The race to be the first to leave behind the competitors and the harshness of the desert are mixed with the cultural and social differences between them, mistrust and fear, which will put the characters in borderline situations. Justice is possible in a world with social inequalities? Can fear justify violence?? To what extent the human being exploits nature and his own nature due to ambition? Clown cutouts, cabaret, dose of acidity and raw reality are mixed to give shape to a piece that invites us to entertainment and reflection.
