The music of the Near East and the Maghreb constitutes the source from which Andalusian artists drank for centuries. This music achieves its maximum splendor in the refinement of its classical manifestation and the ease that its popular side shows.. Islamic music assumes the heritage of ancient Asian culture, where the dryness of the steppes and deserts makes the instruments sometimes sound arid, penetrating the depths of the listener, leaving an indelible mark, like the footprints that are left in the desert. But at the same time, This music maintains another trait that makes it in some way inimitable.: It has the refinement of the vaults of palatial rooms and the splendor of ancient oriental civilizations. Worship the sound, covering it with geometric shapes, rough nobility and delicate ornamentation. It designs and propagates an oriental culture of courtly splendor that mixes with the purity of the intricate labyrinths of the medinas and is intertwined with old Ottoman songs., Andalusian poems of love and heartbreak, or vague improvised melodies, where the full moon over the indigo sky retains the melancholic songs and the rhythmic fire that the nomadic people light.
