At the heart of every profound change, life and death are not opposites, but allies that walk hand in hand. Dewey Dell, the acclaimed Italian collective, places us at the center of this metamorphosis with a proposal that transcends dance to become a rite of passage. Under the direction of Teodora and Agata Castellucci, together with Vito Matera and the musician Demetrio Castellucci, the company revisits the archetype of spring not as a pastoral idyll, but as a chaotic and fertile disruption.
In the insect kingdom, seeds and molds, death is a welcoming presence; a necessary invitation for life to flourish. Dewey Dell explores this literal coexistence where decomposition is the engine of fertilization. His choreographic research, nourished by the history of art and animal behavior, proposes a biological sustainability that accepts the end as part of the flow.
About Igor Stravinsky's iconic score, the piece is expanded with a prologue and epilogue designed exclusively by Demetrio Castellucci. This soundscape acts as a bridge between musical tradition and the most current sound experimentation., enveloping the viewer in an atmosphere of constant transformation.
From 2006, Dewey Dell has charted a path where dance meets video, music and visual art. In this piece, The body becomes the territory where the battle of regeneration is fought. It is an ode to the resilience of nature, reminding us that even in the fall, the soil prepares to sprout again.
