Xoel López presents “Oniria Popular”

on tuesday 21 April to 19:00, The Fnac València Forum hosts the presentation of the new album by Xoel López, Oniria Popular, in a special meeting that will allow you to discover up close one of the most personal and unique works of the musician from A Coruña. This is the seventeenth studio album by one of the most influential voices in Spanish pop of the last two decades., an artist who has known how to reinvent himself without losing identity and who, on this occasion, signs an intimate and collective album at the same time, where the inner story coexists, shared memory and a new sound horizon.
An album born from the unconscious
Oniria Popular It is a title loaded with meaning. Oniria, a neologism that refers to the world of dreams and the unconscious; Popular, the realization that, except when we dream, we all share the same common ground. The sum points to the collective unconscious that Carl Jung described: an ocean shared and fragmented into intimate islands. This album is one of them. For almost forty minutes, Xoel invites the listener on a journey towards their creative center, where the roots are so deeply screwed that they no longer need to be watered: the songs have always been there. The result is a transparent album, honest and emotional, where for the first time in many years the artist is also shown with his face uncovered on the cover, closing a circle started in its stage as Deluxe.
Pop that dreams with its feet on the ground
Musically, Oniria Popular unfolds a luminous and reflective pop, that dialogues with the traditional and the folkloric without ever abandoning the contemporary. The songs fly, but they maintain contact with the ground. There are melodies that are born from dreams and lyrics that wonder about the place of the individual in an accelerated world., noisy and constantly changing. Xoel himself has defined the album as “an album that springs forth suddenly, not searched, that appears without chasing it, like good love. A phrase that sums up the spirit of the work well. Mixed by David Greenbaum in Los Angeles, The album presents a new and distinctive sound within his career, without giving up the sensitivity that has always defined his work.
