The K-lidoscopi Short Film Festival reaches its 14th edition this year with the most ambitious proposal in its history. Recognized with the title of Qualifying Festival for the Goya Awards, K-lidoscopi has the support of the Cullera City Council, AISGE Valencia Foundation, DAMA and numerous local sponsors who bet, year after year, for an event that has established itself as a reference in national audiovisual.

Con more of 700 short films presented in this new edition, the festival can boast of having seen many of its winners win the most prestigious awards in the sector, including the Goya Awards (he 85% of the nominated works also go through K-lidoscopi) e, even, Cannes, Berlin or be part of the Hollywood Oscar race.

“We continue to grow by leaps and bounds” says the festival director, Julio Martí Zahonero. “In time, We have consolidated very close collaborations with highly prestigious entities within the sector, from DAMA to the Valencian Academy of Audiovisual or the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain. At the same time, Cullera is also confirmed as a meeting point for professionals, where directors, interpreters, scriptwriters and producers agree on a framework that promotes and encourages the creation of short films at the national level.”. Without going any further, the three categories that make up this year's Official Section -Fiction, Animation and Documentary- They comprise a total of 60 jobs, while the other two classical sections of K-lidoscopi (Perspective and Animant) They have six and five works respectively. The big news is the Somriure Section, presented last July to energize the Barri del Pou, one of the most emblematic areas of the old town of Cullera, and which consisted of the screening of three short films - one per week- outdoor.

The 14th edition will feature two renowned professionals from our industry as main protagonists.. On the one hand, the screenwriter and director from Almeria Manuel Martín Cuenca, nominated a 7 Goya Awards and responsible for titles such as “The Bolshevik's Weakness”, "Cannibal", “The author” or “The daughter”, will be honored at the Closing Gala and awarded with the K-lidoscopi of Honor. Besides, the veteran actress Petra Martínez, whose career spans the last six decades under the orders of filmmakers such as Pedro Almodóvar, Victor Erice, Jaime Rosales or Jaume Balagueró, will collect the Golden K-lidoscopi, highest distinction of the Festival. Finally, Wagener, one of the notable presences of the previous edition, will be named godmother of the event.
