Maja y Bastarda es la apropiación de bailes tradicionales que se convierten en poco serios, poco sobrios, poco puros. Es una elección lúcida por lo que puede darse al margen del dogma. De esta manera presento en sociedad a la mil leches, que haciendo gala de su engranaje ficticio entre lo tradicional y lo novedoso, fabrica una jonda bastarda, una folklórica Frankenstein que viaja del tablao al teatro, de la cueva al cabaret, del gremio a la afición, del mercadillo a la pasarela. Se mueve en una zambra collage sobre la que teje un vocabulario que por contagio y familiaridad, se lanza a inventar un hacer cargado de preguntas que apelen a lo mestizo, a lo majo, a lo extranjero.
