A consolidated appointment that highlights one of the most emblematic and representative products of the municipality: the Xilxes melon, recognized for its sweetness, texture and quality, and become a true symbol of our agricultural identity.
The melon grown in the Marjal de Xilxes is the result of a traditional work that has been passed down from generation to generation, and that has positioned the municipality as a benchmark in the production of a melon with an unmistakable flavor. The fair, what will be held on the days 25 i 26 of July at the Passeig Marítim de la Platja de Xilxes, wants to continue strengthening this prestige and give visibility to the gastronomic and cultural value of the product.
This edition will have the participation of local producers Gamberro Melons, Minguet Fruits, Bonet melons, Racha Melons in which San Isidro Cooperative, which will show the public the quality of the melon from our land and the work behind each piece.
Besides, the fair will have a special Housewives stand, who join this celebration bringing tradition, proximity and neighborhood participation. There will also be raffles for L'Exquisit Mediterrani products, as well as palm trees, hats and other details for the audience, thanks to the sponsorship of La Caixa de Xilxes, which supports this initiative and reinforces the commitment to the town's traditions.
The program includes melon tastings, children's workshops and a showcooking by Michelin-starred chefs, which will demonstrate the versatility of Meló de Xilxes in signature cuisine.
The XII Fira del Meló thus consolidates itself as an event that combines gastronomy, tradition and local identity, and that reaffirms the role of the melon as a unique and distinctive product of the municipality.
