Oedipus the King – Bambalina Practicable Theatre
The Valencian theater company Bambalina Teatre Practicable presents its puppet version of Sophocles' Greek tragedy, with adaptation (renewed for the occasion) and directed by Jaume Policarpo.
Oedipus Rex is a moving work like no other that preserves intact its ability to lead the viewer to a mythical realm where men and gods interact in a mysteriously supportive way.. A work that transcends us and connects us with a mythological sense of existence that even today continues to expand our senses and provides a metaphysical emotion that is difficult to explain.. In her, Bambalina explores the expressive possibilities of puppets to establish a contemporary connection with an author so far away in time and so close due to his poetics and sensitivity.: a restless playwright, committed and with a deep sense of the social and humanistic meaning of theater.
Work in Valencian.
