Monday at 19 hours will kick off the X Meeting of Mediterranean Writers with a debate on the 75 birthday of one of our most important Valencian writers under the title: "The Mediterraneans of Chirbes". With the collaboration of Joan Carles Martí, Alfonso Cervera, Manolo Micó Chirbes and moderated by Bárbara Blasco in the Bangarang bookstore begins a week that aims to reflect on "The Frontiers of the Mediterranean" and that will culminate in 8 of November with the presentation of the Ponts Mediterranis awards to the writer, Valencian musician and sociologist Rafa Xambó; also the writer and anthropologist Francesc Mira; the psychologist, actress, pedagogue, clown and Gold Medal of Fine Arts in 2008, Maria Colomer; the Chirbes Foundation and the first director of the Mostra Cinema del Mediterrani, who died this year, Pep Pons.
On Tuesday 5 at the same time, the bookshop L'arribada will host the conversation between the writer and painter from Sueca Manuel Baixauli and the writer and professor of philosophy from Cocentaina Joan Benesiu, moderated by Ángels Gregori. On Wednesday, there will be a debate on "The invisible borders of the Mediterranean" with three main dishes of contemporary literature: Zafra Remedies, Almudena Sánchez and Mario Obrero at the La Rossa bookstore. Zafra is a specialist in the critical study of contemporary culture, anthropology, cyberfeminism and digital culture. His work has been recognized with several awards, among them, the Anagram Prize for Essay in 2017 and the International Youth Essay Prize in 2022. The Mallorcan Almudena Sánchez is known mainly from the publication in 2021 of Farmac, a testimonial book about depression written without taboos and with large doses of humor. In it, the author takes a journey through her life and narrates in the first person what it means to face such a mental illness. Mario Worker, on your part, is a poet from Madrid who presented the first two seasons of the literary program "A Country to Read", issued in La 2, and regularly collaborates with RNE.

On Friday, last day of the conference, the opening of the Rocío Villalonga and Harraga exhibition by Fouad Bouatba will take place and at the 19.30 they will deliver the Ponts del Mediterrani which recognizes the contribution in different creative disciplines, artistic, cultural, of the thinking and institutions of different personalities and entities that have worked actively for the Mediterranean as a whole. In its ten years of history, personalities such as Pepe Viyuela have been recognized, Agnès *Varda, Artur Heras, Carmen Amoraga or Ovid Montllor posthumously.
