A PENGUIN IN MY ELEVATOR born in 1985, when José Luis Moro from Madrid decided to start showing the world the first songs he composed in the solitude of his bedroom, with the sole help of a keyboard with Yamaha PSR rhythms 60, the older brother of the Casiotone.
In 1987 his first album comes out, a mini-LP with six songs that includes what will be his first hit: Spying on my neighbor. In 1988, after publishing the second album, The spa, Mario Gil, former component of mythical groups such as Paraíso or La mode, joins the band. Those last years of the decade are the band's greatest projection, that tours the country with new hits like Trapped in the elevator.
When starting the 90, after a series of disagreements with his record company, Mario and José Luis decide to put their musical career on hold and dedicate themselves to their respective parallel occupations.. José Luis becomes an advertising creative – today he has his own advertising agency, Torreblanca Penguin, and is one of the most awarded Spanish advertising companies, con 15 Waves awards, among many others – and Mario embarks on a frenetic career as a musical setting and creator of countless television tunes., like the one in The Price is Right.
From that moment, Music will become a secondary activity to which they dedicate the limited free time left by their respective professions..
