Tobias Meinhart's Berlin People

Described as "the saxophonist with greater talent in Germany" (JazzThing), Tobias Meinhart has established himself as a leading voice in contemporary jazz. Both in 2023 like in 2024 He was appointed Rising Star in the critics survey of Downbeat magazine. Resident in New York for 15 years, Share stays between the Big Apple and Berlin, Two cities where jazz is deeply rooted. With his group Berlin People has recorded great projects, Some of them with the great guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel. Creator of great compositions, Mix the spirit of the New York avant -garde jazz scene with Berlin's creative opening.

Sonic River is the last album of this saxophonist and composer. Combining jazz with poetic rhythms and narratives, It is inspired by literary icons like Paul Auster, Alejandra Pizarnik and Rainer Maria Rilke. This work reflects the creative trip of Tobias for its Bavarian roots and its base of operations in Brooklyn (NY). Produced by the winner of a Grammy Matt Pierson, Sonic River captures a vibrant and contemporary jazz sound that unites cultures and influences, offering a dynamic and deeply expressive auditory experience.

His debut album at Sunnyside Records reached the first round of the Grammy and, since then, Berlin People has made international tours, and was selected to represent German jazz in Jazzahead. Con Sonic River (Spring of 2025), The band embarks on an extensive European tour, consolidating further as a force on the current jazz panorama.
