From the hand of First Act, The SGAE Center Cultural Room will host the presentation of the book Teodora – Casandra – Irene Papas, which collects two dramatic poems written by Irene Papas, Cassandra and Theodora, that had not been published until now, as well as other texts about the life and work of the Greek actress.
The session will feature interventions by the book's editors: Angela Monleon (editor and director of First Act), Jaime Millas (journalist and writer) and Alejandro Valverde García (professor of classical languages and researcher). Antonio Melero will also participate (Professor of Classical Philology and translator) and Nieves Rodríguez (playwright and vice president of the Association of Theater Authors and Authors). Besides, Actresses Lola López and Amparo Fernández will read scenes from the two Papas monologues included in the book.
Irene Papas almost secretly cultivated a literary hobby to express certain episodes of her life with verses.. Her poetry also recreated feelings and dilemmas of women with their own voice who left an important testimony in the world of antiquity.. Thus, Teodora – Casandra – Irene Papas shares with her readers the memory of three key women in history and theater of all time.
