Sun Catcher It is the continuation of the project “Solarstalgia” The artist started at the Swiss Alps invited to participate in the great project Watch the Glacier Disappear. The artist turns her gaze towards two essential elements in the origins of photography: The sun and time. The time of photographic production away from digital overproduction, where each image requires patience and concentration. The time also of nature itself, of the long change and transformation of the glacial landscape. The artist starts from two techniques from the Industrial Revolution - Solarigraphy and Cianotypia - to evoke the abrupt arrival of Anthropocene, registering the movement of the sun and capturing the devastating impact of sunlight on the monumental mount icy. The solar turn in the work of Diana Lelonek is directly related to her search for as much invasive techniques possible, With a desire to free yourself from dominant technology and follow the path of material nature of photography.
