CAMERATA LIRICA presents the original version of the beautiful STABAT MATER OP. 61 (VERSION 1800) by LUIGI BOCCHERINI, musician best known for his chamber concertos.
Boccherini composed his first version of the Stabat Mater in 1781 for a soprano and string quintet ensemble. It is not known for what reason, if for the interest of some French editor, due to economic needs or to give new life to a great work that remained aside, Boccherini learns it 1800 a second version of his Stabat Mater, but in this case for three voices: of sopranos, tenor and string orchestra, nominating it as Stabat Mater Opus 61.
Boccherini proposes Stabat with this, a totally different and renewed vision of other Stabat written until then. The piece structures the complete text of the poem in eleven movements and mixes recitative, free ariosos and opera quasiarias, to create one of his most attractive works.
