SOLAS is the latest scenic creation by Candela Capitán, a work for five performers, five computers and an online streaming web platform in which "women contemplate themselves while being looked at". SOLAS explores the overexposure of the female body in the era of digital communication and under the effects of globalization and its choreography, that passes through the bodies on the stage and enters "the screen", It is accompanied by a soundtrack by Slim Soledad.
SOLAS exhibits the copy, the repetition and deterioration of the image on the internet, but it also highlights the hyperindividualism and hyperconnectivity present in social networks.. In turn, SOLAS ventures to talk about the (in)visibility of the female body in the immaterial data market that invades today and where the body continues to be considered the main object of desire. Apple computers and mobile phones, pink lycra jumpsuits and high boots, sunglasses and screen light draw the visual imaginary of SOLAS to diversify the viewer through other ways of seeing, from the stalls or through your smartphone. Candela Capitán thus multiplies into a set of other selves that in a kaleidoscopic way directs the public's gaze towards the capitalization of the woman's body., eroticism in the world of fashion or identity theft on the internet.
