The next stop of the Iberdrola Skate Series, the new national skateboarding league, will be held in Valencia. The capital of the Valencian Community, the Sports Community, will be one of the venues for this new national competition for three days, of the 11 al 13 October, and it will be the stage and showcase of this urban sport, a very important event in Valencia to highlight these disciplines under the organization of the RFEP and with the collaboration of the Generalitat Valenciana and the Valencia City Council and the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation. To carry out this event, a stadium will be installed in the City of Arts and Sciences, in addition to the necessary clues so that participants can show their skills. The Skate Series will have five events in total, Valencia being the third stop on the circuit.
For the first time in a national test, Sub-12 modality is included, both masculine, as feminine. This category is designed especially for the little ones, giving the youngest people the opportunity to skate in a national reference event. All schools in the country are invited to encourage their promising young people to participate, offering a unique experience. The U-12 category is open to participants born between 2012 y 2016, both included. It is important to note that each participant can only register in one category.; that is to say, You must choose between competing in the Under-12 category or in the Absolute category., but not in both. However, the minors of 12 years who wish to compete for cash prizes may choose to register in the Absolute category.
The national competition has two modalities: Park y Street, and was inaugurated with great success 31 of May, 1 y 2 June with the first in the Street modality at the Skatepark Ciutat de Badalona and the 7 al 9 June in La Nucia (Alicante) in Park mode. In Valencia the Street modality will be welcomed, in which there will be two categories, the absolute feminine and masculine.
The competition of this sporting discipline is created after the collaboration of the Royal Spanish Skating Federation (RFEP), Urban Roosters and Iberdrola, and is carried out in Valencia through the PAC CV competition aid program, promoted by the Spanish Olympic Committee and the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation.
The Skate Series will offer a total of €100,000 in prizes to be distributed among all participating athletes. During the coming weeks, important news about the Skate Series will be revealed, as well as all the cities that will host this event in 2024, a discipline, el skateboard, which has been Olympic since the Tokyo Games 2020. Skateboarding was officially recognized as an Olympic discipline at the Tokyo Games 2020 and was present, also, in the Paris Games program 2024 from this summer.
