European Mobility Week 2024

With the subject Shared public space, the deputy councilor for Security and Mobility, Jesus Carbonell, gave an account this Thursday of the series of activities planned by Valencia City Council on the occasion of European Mobility Week, which will unfold throughout the city between Saturday 14 and Sunday 22 of September. The week will start on Saturday 14, at the Royal Gardens, with the traditional Mobility Fair, where different entities will exhibit and disseminate their actions in favor of sustainable mobility. There will be live radio broadcasts, colloquia, conferences and children's activities. The Municipal Transport Company (EMT) will take the Nurseries to Superbus and Superbusina for the enjoyment of the little ones. Enter Monday 16 and Friday 20 of September, The City Council has scheduled several fun activities for the whole family in different parts of the city such as the Nazareth markets, Algirós and Cabanyal, the squares of Benimaclet, Patraix, Joaquín Muñoz Peirats (Benicalap) and Segovia (Covered Cross), as well as the parks of Orriols, Central and West.

In addition to the program reviewed, an open day will be held at the City Council's Traffic Management Center, the room of 092 and the Local Police Museum, because citizens know the operation of these municipal infrastructures which are fundamental in the mobility of the city. Aimed at the most technological profiles, a gamification APP will be launched, Commutie, with which through the collection of data on the transport habits of citizens who access to download the APP, EMT Valencia will encourage the use of public transport with discounts and prizes for those who achieve certain challenges.

The European Mobility Week will close at the weekend with two events of great importance. on saturday 21 of September, the covered number 2 de la Marina will host a Great Party with workshops, games and musical setting, thanks to the participation of Valenbisi, EMT, the association of driving schools, ‘food trucks’, the songs of the Tallarín clown, two traveling bands and the Billy Boom Band concert. Finally, on sunday 22, World Car Free Day, public transport in the city will be promoted with free access to the EMT bus network. A children's bicycle gymnasium will take place in the Vivers Road Education Park. Valencia City Council will also participate on the day 20 of September in a day organized jointly with ITS Spain on urban road safety. In the same, the 'Vision Zero' awards will be given, which reward the municipalities and districts without deaths in road accidents.
