Mara Aranda celebrates 35 years on the stages of the world with a unique concert in the hermitage of Sant Llorenç. Accompanied by four virtuoso musicians, the famous performer presents a kaleidoscopic show that rescues the voices, feelings and avatars of medieval women, and breaks the historical myths that reduced them to simple archetypes of saints, witches or sinners. The repertoire revives the legacy of the trobairitz (singer-songwriters of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries of southern France), which turned the Occitan language into the vehicle of their literary and affective expression. The use of this language, sister of ours and which shares the same roots as the Valencian, brings us naturally to his poetics. The program also includes anonymous pieces in which female authorship can be sensed hidden behind the veil of anonymity; an essential refuge at that time to safeguard and inherit the real chronicle of its time for posterity. through music, this concert pays tribute both to the creators of the past and to the minds of the present - women and men - who recognize the courage of their witnesses. From the compositions of trobairitz until the firm denunciation of Christine de Pizan in the 15th century—pioneer to defend female education against Aristotelian misogyny—, this evening builds an indestructible bridge between the medieval era and the 21st century to show that the search for dignity and free expression is a constant in the history of humanity.
