As spring comes every year and with it the celebration of flowers and literature that is a way to celebrate life, the letters and, by the way, in St. George, Alcoi pattern. For all these reasons, we decided for the second consecutive year to take the book stops to the streets of Cabanyal to celebrate Book Day as it should.. Since this falls on Thursday, we bring it forward to sunday 19, to facilitate curious and interested public to approach the event.
The initiative is jointly run by the La Batisfera bookstore and the Association of Neighbors and Neighbors of Cabanyal Canyamelar. Bookstores have attended his call, publishers and authors to participate in a series of activities focused on the world of books that will take place in the streets adjacent to the headquarters of our bookstore (crossing Reina Street with Carles Ros) in the morning and afternoon (of 12 a 20 hours) uninterruptedly. Books and flowers for all those who want to sign up for our particular celebration.
The bookstores will offer us a selection of their most particular collections that will be accompanied by flowers so that we can give them to our closest people.. On Sant Jordi we celebrate literature as an object of unity with our peers and that day our purchases are a gift, that's why it is accompanied by a flower (of paper in our case).
Letters and flowers to celebrate a common heritage with the help of the Nöstlinger bookstore, which is now celebrating its second anniversary in Zaidia and Arribada Llibres y Todos Feliz, both located in the Carmen neighborhood.. La Llibreria de Campanar and La Insomne de Russafa help complete the bookstore map of the various neighborhoods of our city. They complement the selection proposed by the organizing bookstore itself (The Bathysphere) and our sister bookstore Ubik Café in the Russafa neighborhood. Varied and kilometer offer 0 coming from the various districts of the city.
The tables of half a dozen Valencian publishers complement the street offering.. The peculiar illustrated books of La Media Vaca, one of those luxuries that we should not get used to and the latest non-fiction news from Barlin Libros, one of the most outstanding voices on the publishing scene in recent years. Mention also for the emerging works of Osadía Ediciones that have earned a place in our library, as well as the publisher Llibres de la Drassana, that are presented side by side with Ontheroad, a new initiative led by Felip Bens, and the suburban books that make up the Ona Ediciones catalog.
In the morning session we opened the microphones of Radio Malva 104.9FM for the live recording of the radio program La Gallina Ciega. The special program that will feature two exceptional guests: Abelardo Muñoz, writer and journalist with whom we will talk about his latest novel (anomie. Valencian rebels in 1970) and the illustrator Miguel Calatayud who inaugurates an exhibition about his graphic work (line, light. color, Miguel Calatayud's comics) next thursday 23 of April at the Cultural Center La Nau of the University of Valencia.
As the regulars already know, La Batisfera is a bookstore cafe. Two hemispheres in the same space: a cafeteria with a wide variety of beers, wines and a menu where vegetarian and vegan dishes coexist with cheese boards or seafood dishes and an international bookstore where you can find new and second-hand copies. All this to indicate that, besides, we can eat, drink and even read, while we meet friends, present and future, on a day that promises to become an unavoidable event on the Valencian literary scene. Don't miss it.
