The second selected experience will be found in the D’HORTA I MARJAL room: THE IMAGINARY, where the final part is dedicated to food, specifically the dish that represents the imagination for the excellence of our territory, already become a global icon; the paella.
ETNO has collaborated with the photographer Ricardo Cases in the publication of the second edition of his work “Pans and Cars”, available in the museum shop. Accompanying the publication, for a few months we will enjoy this original photographic series in the museum's permanent rooms in dialogue with the story of the permanent exhibition.
Nowadays, it is not unusual to see pans in the most unexpected places. In today's dynamic world, where the rush and lack of time threaten some classic social rituals related to food, the Valencians have found solutions. With good weather, our roads are filled with paellas traveling in cars on their way to all kinds of homes. This photographic work was born at the L'Alter restaurant in Picassent (Horta Sud) who cooks more than 80 daily pans to take away during the summer months. Ricardo Cases presents these motorized still lifes, where he explores new visual imaginaries around the representation of the pan.
