Renaud Capuçon returns to the subscription programming, and on this occasion he takes on the double challenge of conducting and performing as a soloist with the Orchestra of Valencia. The program is representative of the great German romanticism, exploring the deep artistic and emotional connection between Brahms and Schumann. After the intensity of Brahms's tragic Overture, Capuçon will perform Schumann's enigmatic and beautiful Violin Concerto, a mature work full of lyricism. The evening will culminate with Symphony no. 2 by Brahms, known for its pastoral and luminous character, and for being one of the symphonies most loved by the general public.
