What is artificial intelligence? AI challenges and threats

The City of Arts and Sciences inaugurates on Artificial Intelligence Cycle with an essential conference to understand what artificial intelligence is (IA) and how it is transforming our society and economy.

The series of conferences will start on 5 February with the presentation «What is artificial intelligence? Challenges and threats of AI », that will be taught by doctor in Computer Science and professor at the UPV Vicent Botti, pioneer in AI in Spain and Europe, director of the Valencian Institute for Research in Artificial Intelligence (VRAIN) and the Valencian Graduate School and Research Network in Artificial Intelligence (ValgrAI).

In this first session the concept of artificial intelligence will be defined, its main applications and its impact on society and the economy. Besides, AI challenges and threats will be addressed, incluyendo sus implicaciones éticas, social and legal, as well as the role of responsible artificial intelligence as a response to these challenges and the challenges posed by its development..

This first appointment inaugurates a cycle composed of seis conferencias gratuitas, que se desarrollarán entre febrero y octubre.

Access to the activity will be through the west door of Menor Street of the Museu de les Ciències (junto al Hemisfèric).
