The General Society of Authors and Editors (SGAE) and the Alfonso the Magnanimous Institution present the third volume of the Teatre complet by the Valencian playwright Rodolf Sirera, which includes the sixteen works that throughout his career he signed with his brother Josep Lluís Sirera. It will be next Tuesday 9 December, at 19 hours, in the SGAE Room Cultural Center of Valencia (Laundry, 6). Admission is free.
The event will feature interventions by the president of SGAE, Antonio Onetti; the professor at the Pompeu Fabra University and author of the prologue, Enric Gallen; the widow of Josep Lluís Sirera, Remedy Mirrors; and the playwright Rodolf Sirera. Besides, to end the session, The actors Daniel Tormo and Anna Martí will offer the dramatization of a scene from the play The Day Bertolt Brecht Goes to Die in Finland, written by the Sirera brothers in 2003.
After publication in 2024 of the first two volumes of Rodolf Sirera's Teatre complet, which comprise the almost fifty works that he wrote between 1969 y 2023, The Alfons el Magnànim Institute has now brought together all the pieces he wrote with his brother Josep Lluís Sirera, a fruitful collaboration that spanned more than four decades. “The majority of the titles had already been published previously in different publishers, and some in very old editions, which made access to them very difficult. Now, thanks to the initiative of the Alfons el Magnànim Institution, The conservation of all this extensive dramaturgical material has been ensured, facilitating access to it for those professionals and scholars who may be interested.", explains Rodolf Sirera.
