On Peronism explained to the Spanish
Any Argentine in Spain has been able to verify that, after the joke about the dog that barks "this one", Wow!», The phrase that Spaniards repeat most about Argentina and its trifles is one that is regretted: "Only you understand that about Peronism". So, How to explain something as complex and mutant as Peronism, forged in the tensions of its particular context and fully impacted by the powerful global historical forces that contended in its formative years? The result of this attempt at clarification is not a standard essay., but a story as fragmentary and heterogeneous as the enigmatic phenomenon that it tries to decipher. And maybe the idea isn't so far-fetched., Isn't it a pop artifact as indefinable as this book—a mix of a tragicomic choral novel with a political and social essay?, with cards of characters that seem taken from an old Dick Tracy comic, with its heroes and villains, added to a dictionary of words arising from popular culture—the most conducive way to try an approach to a phenomenon as sinuous and heterodox as the one it seeks to explain.?
