Presentation of the book “Neurosuite” by Margherita Guidacci

With the poet Joseph Ballester and with the translators and editors Marta Vilardaga i Josep Porcar.

This anthology brings for the first time in Catalan the poetry of Margherita Guidacci (Florence, 1921 - Roma, 1992), collects his masterpiece in its entirety, Neurosuite, and goes through his extensive poetic corpus book by book. His verses, on allegorical and scathingly allusive occasions, but always unequivocal and clear with the eloquent frankness of an act of faith, they are born from her experience as a woman and as an active citizen, and attain a luminous spirituality guided by a powerful expressive clarity, a discreet and nevertheless effusive and poignant low voice with which it is read intelligibly, distinctive elements that are hardly comparable in contemporary European poetry.

In a patriarchal Italy and ronega, he had to face in the middle of the 20th century the triumphant fashions guarded by a critical apparatus in which they ruled, especially in the forties and fifties, patums de l’hermetisme that Guidacci did not follow, always persevering so that no darkness or ambiguity – nor any scurrilousness or squeamishness – entered his crystalline verses, clarividents, energetic and timeless. Tenaciously faithful to herself and to her own literary independence, for her the only path was the one that arose from authenticity, aware that he was embarking on barely trodden poetic paths, separated from the then prevailing currents, as the epiphany of Hungaretti, the aforementioned hermeticism, the neo-avant-garde of the sixties and the persistent 'neo-realisms' of Quasimodo, Pavese or Pasolini.
