Montcada will become the epicenter of reading in Valencian this weekend. The municipality welcomes this weekend the celebration of Plaça del Llibre les days 21, 22 i 23 November in November at the Mediterranean Avenue. The event,organized with the support of the Fundació Full pel Llibre i la Lectura, AVIVA Montcada and the City Council of Montcada, offers a complete program for all audiences. The Plaça del Llibre presents a diverse cultural proposal with book presentations, meetings with authors, children's workshops, shows, live podcast, parade and plays, round tables and signing sessions, that will make of Montcada a space of alive and participatory culture. The schedule will be 11:00h a 14:00h i de 17:00h a 20:30h.
Friday 21: children's workshops and institutional inauguration
The Plaça del Llibre de Montcada will start on Friday 21 from November to 10:00 with school activities by Elías Taño and his committed Graphic proposal: exhibition and workshop.
At the vesprada, The Montcada Library will organize children's workshops where the little ones can create bookmarks and their own reading journal.
To the 18:30, the institutional inauguration of the 3rd edition of Plaça del Llibre will take place, followed by the presentation of the book La Premsa valencianista 1837-1977, by Francesc Martínez Gallego and Francesc Martínez Sanchis and will be moderated by Lourdes Toledo.
The first day will end with a concert by the Sporàdics group.
Saturday 22: activities for children and literary presentations
The little ones can enjoy children's games in the morning, in charge of Cultural Action of the Valencian Country, with the activity La Plaça del Camacuc.
The book We will also be presented, the mountains. The book of the mountains of the Valencian Country, by Josep Villarroya and Pau Valls, and there will be a signing session with Alfons Navarret.
Besides, attendees will be able to follow the Xusma Deluxe podcast live, with Benjamin Serra as guest, and participate in the round table “In defense of the language of the Valencians”, by Ricard Chulià and Vicent Flor, moderated by Marina Macià.
He sunday 23 a parade and the play "Alice in Wonderland" will close. The closing ceremony will be a heartfelt tribute to the pioneers of teaching in Valencian in the city and at Escola Valenciana, which will take place in the Cloister of the Convent of the Franciscans.
Apart from all the scheduled activities, Plaça del Llibre has its extensive bookstore, which has readings for all audiences. The bookstore will remain open
d’11:00 a 14:00 the three days and of 17:00 a 20:30 on Friday and Saturday.
The Place of the Book is celebrated within the framework of the III Week of the Language of Montcada, an initiative promoted by the municipality's Linguistic Standardization Department that claims Valencian in all areas, with special attention this year to education and music.
